About Wake

Our Story

Three of us came together in 2009 for one purpose: to save sharks! After being inspired by organizations like the Sea Shepherd and documentaries like Sharkwater, we decided to inspire change right here in Vancouver. The more we learned about sharks, the more we realized that our eating habits are causing them to disappear! We want to make saving sharks fun, so we have shark costumes, games, and activities that we bring to events around Vancouver. We are also bring our message to schools with a teacher's lesson plan. For more information on what's on your plate that's affecting sharks, visit our website! Wake was founded by Julie Sabau, Marten Sims, and Lindsay O'Donnell.
