Ocean Village Beach Resort opened in 1976 and, over the next thirty-odd years, didn’t change much. In 2009, Ocean Village was acquired by a new ownership group headed by Robert Brown, a Tofino homeowner with twenty years experience in sustainable property development. In the coming years, you can expect lots of eco upgrades to the resort. We’re excited to improve upon the things that make Ocean Village so special, while making it more sustainable in the process.

Beyond our reputation as superb summer getaway location, the popularity of Ocean Village’s winter season is swelling like the waves on our magnificent shores. With Tofino having established itself as a world class surfing destination, folks come from far and wide to tame our epic waves, or at least to watch them. Those who prefer to stay dry happily stick to the shore to marvel at dramatic storms, their cameras ready as they beg the ocean for a glimpse of a Sea Lion or a majestic whale. Some take soulful walks along a beach wonderfully framed by a lush rain forest. Whether you’re conquering the sea or just admiring it, you’ll have earned your spot by the fire at the end of the night, toasting marshmallows and sipping hot cocoa before retiring to your oceanfront cottage.
