About Fir Street Community Acupuncture
Our Story
Community Acupuncture is a sliding scale service that involves treating patients in a group setting. A group setting treatment is often used by acupuncturists in the East. Most North American acupuncture clinics treat in a spa-like setting with patients on tables and in individual rooms. Average rates of a single acupuncture session in these settings ranges from $50-95.
Community acupuncture clinics treat patients in a group setting with patients on recliners and tables. The patients need not undress; they simply roll up their clothing to their elbows and knees. The sliding scale payment ranges from $20-40. The group setting allows the community acupuncturist to see multiple patients and keep the treatment fees low. The sliding scale would also enable patients to come in frequently. The frequency of treatment is often related to faster and better result. The aim of community acupuncture is to make acupuncture accessible to people with lower income or those not covered by insurance. We currently have 5 recliners and 1 table available.
