Learning first hand from her own experiences, and her wonderful mentors, Amy has developed interests in myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, visceral manipulation and craniosacral therapy. This has brought her a keen appreciation of the healing processes involved in car accidents, sports injuries, and chronic overuse and postural conditions.

After receiving an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, from Simon Fraser University in 2000, Amy went on to work for the National Research Council in Montreal, biotechnology companies in Germany and Edmonton, as well as research at the University of Alberta and the University of British Columbia. Her aspiration to help people led from research to a desire for a more direct therapeutic practice.

She decided to return to school to become a Registered Massage Therapist after she found that massage therapy really helped her in the recovery process following a car accident. Amy now counts her car accident as a blessing, helping her to really understand patients who deal with chronic diffuse symptoms, and is finding it very rewarding to work directly with people and helping them regain their health.
